Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base:
Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC)
New Orleans

NOSC logoEstablished in October 2004, the NOSC was the result of a merger between Naval Air Reserve (NAR) New Orleans and Naval Reserve Center (NRC) New Orleans.

The command’s primary mission is to prepare Naval Reservists to support Fleet Commanders around the globe. Naval Reservists from the NOSC provide support to the Fleet using drills, Annual Training (AT), Additional Duty for Training (ADT) and through recall to active duty, primarily by way of mobilization or Active Duty for Special Work (ADSW). NOSC New Orleans provides support to over 45 Reserve Units and over 700 Navy Reservists. Additionally, the NOSC provides financial and medical support to VFA 204, VR 54 and MAG 42.

The command has in excess of 60 Officer, Enlisted and Civilian staff members. NOSC New Orleans is located in the Frank J. Uddo Armed Forces Reserve Center (Bldg 492).
